Privacy Policy

Short version: Zood has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The developer runs no servers and receives none of your data. Your progress stays on your iPhone, and translation runs on your iPhone too. Your voice is never uploaded.

Who we are

Data stored on your iPhone

Learning progress and settings — completed lessons, XP, streak, which words you find hard, and your preferences.
Translation history — the text of your last translations (Farsi, romanization and English). Audio recordings are never saved.

This data never leaves your device and is not sent to the developer. You can delete it at any time in Me → Your data (reset course progress, delete translation history), or delete everything by deleting the app.

Microphone

Zood uses the microphone only while you have tapped the Translate button, so it can turn speech into text. The audio is processed by a speech model running on your iPhone and is discarded straight after. It is never uploaded, stored or shared with anyone, including any AI service.

Offline translator download

When you choose to download the offline translator, Zood downloads the open-source Whisper speech model (about 950 MB) from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). Like any download, Hugging Face sees the request and your IP address. No personal data is sent. See the Hugging Face privacy policy.

What we don't do

No sign-up, no account, no email collection.
No advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking SDKs. Nothing tracks you across other apps or websites.
We don't sell or share personal data.

Retention and deletion

The developer keeps no data about you, so there is nothing to request or delete on our side. On-device data stays until you delete it as described above.

Children

Zood is a general-audience learning app. It is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.

Third parties

The only third party Zood connects to is Hugging Face, to download the offline speech model if you choose to. No personal data is sent to it. The fonts and speech model are open-source components bundled with or downloaded by the app; none of them collect data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
